Kritik an dem Umgang vom matrix.org server mit spam

In this case they could delete every message of the user aswell... In my opinion it would help keeping the matrix ecosystem healthy...

I kind of agree to you, but (not that I do not believe abrahimladha but it could be) such reports could be forged as well. Matrix allows to protect rooms good enough to prevent spam users from being successful. Maybe for room admins, client's like Element may should inform the user more explicit that a room is public, that could help protecting them more than a controversial moderation team, which also costs time and/or money.

they already have a moderation team for their own rooms and you can use their ban list for your own mjolnir. It's just a step more: Shall this matrix.org user only be banned in the mjolnir or shall the account and his messages deleted, too.

To be clear, i think matrix.org is one of the biggest spam servers... :( This is no wonder because of the size, but i don't like that they let spammers do their thing and roll off the whole work to the mjolnir and room admins... Their users! Their spam!

Ist eigentlich wie bei XMPP, bloß das bei Gruppenchats jeder Server eine andere Retention Politik haben kann. Mit MSC1763 soll aber auch eine Retention Politik auf Raum Basis kommen. => Meines Wissens nach ist das mitnehmen der Nachrichten beim Wechsel des Matrix-Clients genauso schwer, wenn die Retention Politik des Servers niedrig ist. Der Vorteil von Matrix ist (bisher), dass die Retention Politik meist bei 1 Jahr oder länger liegt. Zumindestens ist mir bei z.B. Element kein Import bekannt und ein Export nur pro Raum. Aber bisher gibt es bei Matrix auch wenig auf den Clients, das es Wert wäre mitzunehmen, da die Clients fast nichts Cachen und somit vom Server abhängig sind. => XMPP und Matrix verhalten sich in dieser Hinsicht einfach völlig unterschiedlich. Ein verhalten wie bei XMPP müsste man erst Client seitig implementieren. Aufgrund der langen Retention Politik der Server hat da wohl bisher keiner eine Notwendigkeit zu gesehen.
FWIW many if not most of the complaints I have seen about retention policies are about messages not immediately being deleted on every client.
The more i think about it, it's a bit funny. On a Matrix perspective the decentralization is crucial, but Clients aren't used for this. If I am in a 1vs1 Room and my server lost all messages, all message are gone.
